France's Industrial Competitiveness Plan Aims for €150 Billion Boost by 2040
A new study by Eurogroup Consulting highlights the need for France to transform its industrial sector to enhance competitiveness and sovereignty. The proposed plan aims to generate an additional €150 billion in value by 2040, focusing on breakthrough technologies such as generative AI, quantum computing, and advanced nuclear fusion. The study emphasizes the importance of reducing dependency on foreign suppliers, as over 60% of industrial components in France are currently imported, primarily from Asia. The plan also aims to create nearly a million jobs in high-value, skilled sectors, addressing vulnerabilities like insufficient scale and fragmented industrial ecosystems.
