Severe Storms and Flash Floods Hit Kansas City Metro
Severe storms swept through the Kansas City metro area early Monday morning, prompting a Flash Flood Warning for Wyandotte County, Kansas, and Clay and Platte counties in Missouri until 8 a.m. on June 1, 2026. The region experienced over 4 inches of rain in a short period, leading to localized flooding. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was also issued, with threats including tennis ball-sized hail, 70 mph winds, and the potential for tornadoes. The Storm Prediction Center placed the area under a 2/5 severe risk, with the most intense activity expected around midnight.
