World Food Programme Caribbean Seeks Local Organizations for Emergency Food Assistance in Jamaica
The World Food Programme (WFP) Caribbean is actively seeking Jamaica-based civil society and non-governmental organizations to bolster the country's emergency preparedness and response capabilities. This initiative aims to facilitate rapid, large-scale in-kind food assistance during national emergencies. The program is part of the WFP Multi-Country Strategic Plan (2022–2026) and builds upon lessons learned from recent hurricane and disaster responses. The primary objectives include providing emergency food assistance to crisis-affected populations, helping disaster-affected households meet their food and nutrition needs, and supporting access to essential food during and after crises.
