Consumers Energy Foundation's Grant Competition Aims to Revitalize Michigan Communities
The Consumers Energy Foundation is hosting its annual 'Put Your Town on the Map' competition, where ten Michigan communities are competing for grant funding to support local projects. The competition, which began in 2019, is designed to enhance public spaces and celebrate community history. This year, the finalists will present their projects at the Small Town and Rural Development Conference at Crystal Mountain. The grants, totaling $50,000, will be distributed as $25,000 for first place, $15,000 for second place, and $10,000 for third place. The projects range from creating a Night Market and Arts Alley in Albion to developing a Black Heritage Trail in Yates Township, and improving public spaces like DeVoe Beach in Tuscarora Township.
