Dallas Police Department Honors Fallen Officer Darron Burks with Portrait Dedication
The Dallas Police Department held a ceremony to unveil a portrait of Officer Darron Burks, who was killed in the line of duty two years ago. The event took place at the department's South Central Patrol Division and was attended by department leaders, officers, family members, and fraternity brothers. Chief Daniel Comeaux emphasized the department's commitment to remembering Burks' sacrifice, stating that the portrait will serve as a permanent reminder of his service. Deputy Chief Jordan Colunga praised Burks' dedication and character, highlighting his passion for serving the community. Burks' mother, Cherie Burks Jeffrey, expressed gratitude for the continued support and reflected on her son's life of service, noting his previous work as a teacher before joining the police force.
