Big Bear Bald Eagle Jackie Remains in Critical Condition After Blood Transfusion
Jackie, a well-known bald eagle from Big Bear, California, is in critical condition after receiving a life-saving blood transfusion. The transfusion was facilitated by Spirit, another eagle residing at the California Living Museum in Bakersfield. Jackie was found on the ground near Big Bear Lake, suffering from severe anemia and kidney inflammation. Despite the successful transfusion, her condition remains critical, and veterinarians at the Ojai Raptor Center are working to determine the underlying cause of her illness.
