Macau Chief Executive Proposes Free Trade and Double Taxation Agreements with Malaysia
Macau Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai met with Malaysian Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur to propose establishing a free trade agreement and a double taxation avoidance deal. These initiatives aim to create a more favorable environment for bilateral trade and investment between Macau and Malaysia. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim affirmed the proposals, noting their potential to deepen economic cooperation. During the meeting, Sam Hou Fai invited Malaysian enterprises to utilize Macau and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin as gateways to markets in mainland China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
