The initiative seeks to address safety concerns related to AI platforms, which have been accused of enabling violence. ThroughLine, known for redirecting users at risk of self-harm or domestic violence to crisis support, is expanding its scope to include deradicalization support. The tool will likely combine chatbot responses with referrals to real-world mental health services. The company is collaborating with The Christchurch Call, an initiative formed after New Zealand's 2019 terrorist attack, to develop the intervention chatbot. The tool is currently in testing, with no release date set.
