Mouth Pad Device Offers New Assistive Technology for PC Control
Augmental, a company specializing in 'Skinware,' has developed the Mouth Pad, a Bluetooth device that allows users to control PCs, tablets, and phones using their tongue. The device is designed to assist individuals with limited mobility, providing an alternative to traditional gaming peripherals. The Mouth Pad is custom-fitted and resembles the top half of a retainer, with flexible circuits encased in dental resin. It connects via Bluetooth and offers about seven hours of battery life. The device is currently available in the U.S. for $1,400, though it is not yet FDA approved.
