Pakistan's Jazz Launches AI-Powered IoT Weather Monitoring Station to Enhance Climate Resilience
Pakistan's telecommunications company Jazz has introduced an AI-powered IoT weather monitoring station at its headquarters in Islamabad. This initiative aims to provide hyper-local weather intelligence crucial for climate adaptation and resilience against climate-related risks such as floods, heatwaves, and extreme rainfall. The platform captures real-time environmental data, including temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed, and barometric pressure, and shares it with the Pakistan Meteorological Department to enhance weather observation and forecasting. Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim emphasized the importance of accurate, localized data for better forecasting and preparedness, which can help build more resilient communities. The platform also supports additional capabilities like air quality and UV radiation monitoring.
