Israeli Security Guard Charged with Contacting Foreign Agent, Using AI Tools
Mohammad Khalaf, a 25-year-old security guard from Baqa al-Gharbiyye, has been charged by the Haifa District Prosecutor’s Office in Israel for allegedly contacting a foreign agent. According to the indictment, Khalaf carried out tasks for an Iranian handler, received payments in cryptocurrency, and utilized artificial intelligence tools, including consulting ChatGPT. The investigation claims Khalaf found an advertisement for a courier position in a Telegram group and subsequently communicated with an individual identifying as 'Martin' (previously 'Thomas'). He allegedly provided details about his workplace, a youth boarding school, including security procedures, night shifts, and camera locations. Khalaf was detained on September 6 and has remained in custody, reportedly admitting to the contacts, tasks, and receiving money during questioning.
