Restoration of Historic Lincoln-Herndon Law Office Completed in Springfield
The Illinois Capital Development Board, in collaboration with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, has completed the restoration of the historic Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices in Springfield. The $3.9 million project focused on restoring the building's architectural elements to their original state, enhancing accessibility and safety. Upgrades included new air conditioning, lighting, and security systems, as well as asbestos abatement. The building, where Abraham Lincoln practiced law, is a significant historical site, and the restoration aims to preserve its legacy for future generations.
