Qantas Flight to U.S. Returns to Sydney After Mid-Air Medical Emergency
A Qantas flight bound for Dallas, Texas, was forced to turn back mid-flight after a medical emergency on board. Flight QF7 had been in the air for approximately four hours when it diverted over the North Fiji Basin and returned to Sydney Airport. Australian Olympic diver Sam Fricker was among the passengers and shared footage of the incident. The aircraft dumped fuel over the ocean as a safety measure before landing. The flight landed safely and was met by emergency services. Passengers faced an additional delay before the flight departed again for Dallas.
