Rottnest Island Shark Attack Claims Life of Devoted Father and Avid Fisherman
Steven Mattaboni, a 38-year-old surveyor from Perth, has been identified as the victim of a fatal shark attack at Rottnest Island in Western Australia. The incident occurred at Horseshoe Reef, where Mattaboni was bitten by a shark while in the water. Despite efforts by paramedics who met him at Geordie Bay, he could not be revived. His wife, Shirene Mattaboni, described him as a devoted father to their two young daughters and a man known for his loyalty and generosity. The attack has deeply affected the local community, with tributes pouring in from friends and the Kingsley football club, where Mattaboni was a beloved member.
