New York Woman's Excessive Coffee Consumption Leads to Heart Health Issues
Rachel Finley, a 32-year-old woman from New York, has shared her experience of developing heart health issues after consuming excessive amounts of coffee. Finley used to drink between eight and ten cups of coffee daily, far exceeding the Mayo Clinic's recommended 400 milligrams of caffeine per day for most adults. This habit began in her early twenties while juggling college, work, and social life, leading her to rely heavily on caffeine. Over time, she experienced symptoms such as heart palpitations, chest heaviness, and sleep disturbances. A sleep study and subsequent cardiologist consultation revealed that she had developed an arrhythmia and heart palpitations, likely due to her caffeine abuse. Finley has since reduced her caffeine intake, opting for decaf coffee and undergoing regular cardiovascular monitoring.
