United Airlines Employee Threatens ICE Call on Passenger Over Citizenship Remarks
A United Airlines employee at San Francisco International Airport allegedly threatened to call U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Julio Varela, a Mexican American and naturalized U.S. citizen, during a confrontation at the airline's counter. The incident, captured on video and shared on social media, shows the employee suggesting Varela 'doesn't act like a citizen.' Varela, who was attempting to resolve a ticketing issue for a flight to Montreal, reported that the employee's conduct was unprovoked. United Airlines is investigating the interaction, and Varela is considering legal action against the employee.
