Chicago Issues Beach Warning Due to Dangerous Waves and Currents
The National Weather Service has issued a beach warning for Lake Michigan beaches in northern and central Cook Counties, effective until Saturday afternoon. The warning predicts waves between 4 to 6 feet and dangerous currents, making swimming hazardous, especially for inexperienced swimmers. Authorities have advised the public to stay out of the water and avoid shoreline structures like piers and jetties. Current temperatures in the area are in the low 50s, with expectations to rise to the low 60s by Saturday.
