The report, discussed by Avrum Lapin of the Lapin Group, indicates that Gen X donors are treating Jewish issues as one of many causes, showing less brand loyalty to legacy organizations. This shift is occurring amidst a broader trend of increased charitable giving in the U.S., with a notable rise in bequests. The Jewish community is experiencing a recalibration in funding priorities, influenced by rising antisemitism and the aftermath of emergency campaigns. Millennials, in particular, are engaging with philanthropy through social movements and volunteerism, reflecting a desire for social change.
