Trump Administration Plans Commemorative $250 Bill Featuring President Trump
The Trump administration is preparing to potentially issue a commemorative $250 bill featuring President Donald Trump's image and signature. This initiative is part of a broader plan to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States. A Treasury Department spokesperson confirmed that the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is conducting 'appropriate planning and due diligence' in response to active legislation. The proposed bill, introduced by Republican Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina, aims to symbolically recognize the President of the United States during the Semiquincentennial anniversary. However, the legislation has stalled in Congress, and there is no current evidence that it will be passed. Notably, U.S. law prohibits the depiction of living individuals on currency, and an exception would require congressional approval.
