India and Japan Explore Skilled Workforce Cooperation at Tokyo Seminar
India and Japan recently held a seminar in Tokyo to discuss enhancing cooperation in skilled workforce mobility and human resource development. The event, organized by the Embassy of India in Japan and ASEAN ONE Co. Ltd., brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and academic institutions from both countries. Vandana Gurnani, Secretary of the Ministry of Labour & Employment, emphasized India's role as a global workforce partner, highlighting the country's demographic strength and skilling ecosystem. The seminar focused on strengthening Japanese language readiness, sector-specific skilling, and ethical recruitment practices. Participants identified potential cooperation in sectors such as manufacturing, caregiving, and IT.
