Brooklyn-Queens Expressway Exit 31 Traffic Jam Becomes Viral TikTok Song
Andrew Rose Gregory, of the Gregory Brothers, has created a comedic song about the notorious traffic congestion at Exit 31 of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE) in Brooklyn. The song, which has garnered over a million views and thousands of likes online, humorously depicts drivers cutting across lanes and the general chaos at the exit where it meets Wythe Avenue. Gregory and his brother, known for their viral 'It's corn' song on TikTok, have been writing comedic songs for approximately 20 years. The inspiration for the Exit 31 song came to Gregory when he realized he would have to navigate the problematic exit himself. The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) acknowledges the community's frustration with the frequent backups at Exit 31 and is progressing with a project to enhance safety and improve traffic flow. This project is currently in its final design stage.
