Following a shooting incident at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, President Trump has renewed his push for the construction of a new White House ballroom. The proposed 90,000-square-foot facility, intended to replace the East Wing, is designed to host large-scale events with world leaders. The project, announced in July 2025, has faced legal challenges, including a lawsuit from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, which claims Trump bypassed necessary legal approvals. A federal judge halted construction in March, citing a lack of legal authority. Despite these setbacks, Trump remains committed to the project, emphasizing its advanced security features.
