Weekend storms to drench West Coast, bring snow next week
A series of storms will impact the U.S. West Coast from Friday through early next week, bringing widespread rain and mountain snow across California and Oregon. Northern and central areas could see 1–2 inches of rain, with 3–5 inches possible in the Sierra Nevada foothills. At higher elevations, 1–4 feet of snow may accumulate above 4,500 feet, along with gusty winds up to 45 mph. The prolonged system could ease drought conditions but may also trigger downstream severe weather as it moves east.
