ReconAfrica Initiates Production Testing at Kavango West 1X Well in Namibia
ReconAfrica, in collaboration with its partners NAMCOR and BW Energy, is advancing production testing operations at the Kavango West 1X (KW1X) well in Namibia. The testing is set to begin before the end of May, with equipment and field services already on site. The production test will evaluate six optimized zones across approximately 420 meters of hydrocarbon-bearing intervals. The company plans to conduct a cement bond log to ensure casing and cement integrity before testing. The testing of a single zone could take up to 10 days, with the entire multi-zone program expected to last around 60 days. Initial results are anticipated by mid-to-late July. ReconAfrica is also progressing with appraisal drilling plans across the broader Kavango discovery area, with site selection and permitting activities underway for the next appraisal well.
