Historic Zoar Village Hosts Educational Homeschool Day for Students
Historic Zoar Village is set to host its annual Zoar Homeschool Day on April 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is specifically designed for homeschool students, offering them a chance to experience life in a 19th-century village. The day will feature a variety of activities that reflect the lifestyle and practices of the Zoar Separatists and other communities from that era. Students will participate in German school lessons, bread relays, butter churning, seed planting, and tin smithing. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to explore several historic buildings, including the Bimeler Museum artifact exhibit, the Blacksmith, the Dairy, and the Laundry. The event aims to provide an immersive educational experience, allowing students to engage with history in a hands-on manner.
