Iran Introduces Dedicated Lanes at Dogharoon Border to Enhance Trade Efficiency
Iranian authorities have announced the introduction of dedicated freight lanes at the Dogharoon border crossing to alleviate long delays for trucks returning from Afghanistan. This initiative aims to improve cross-border trade and transit by reducing waiting periods, which can extend up to 20 days for some Iranian trucks. Hossein Jamshidi, the governor of Taybad County, highlighted that the new lanes will separate traffic flows, increase the border terminal's capacity, and expedite the entry of Iranian trucks. The measure is part of a broader effort to enhance cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan's Taliban administration, potentially resolving logistical challenges and lowering transportation costs.
