National Endowment for the Humanities Funds Regional Arts and Humanities Convening in Southern New England
The Co-Lab at Roger Williams University is hosting a regional convening titled 'Re/Storying Southern New England: Sharing Strategies for Public Humanities & Arts Practice Today.' This half-day event brings together scholars, artists, humanities practitioners, and cultural organizations to explore current strategies and methodologies in public humanities and arts practice. The convening aims to address how communities grapple with contested narratives, whose stories are prioritized, and how knowledge is exchanged. Participants will engage in presentations, facilitated conversations, and small-group exchanges on topics such as engaging diverse publics, adapting to changing political landscapes, fostering reciprocity and relationships, and defining success and impact in the field. This event is a follow-up to The Co-Lab's 2024 (Re)Telling Conference and is supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
