Albert Camus' Literary Legacy Acquired by French National Library
The French National Library has acquired the complete literary legacy of Albert Camus for 9 million euros. This significant acquisition includes manuscripts, personal letters, and the unfinished novel found in the car wreckage after Camus' fatal accident in 1960. The collection, previously held privately, is now part of the library's archives, marking a major cultural preservation effort. The library plans to digitize the collection, making it accessible to a wider audience, with a public exhibition scheduled for March 2027 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Camus' Nobel Prize.
