FDA Recalls Nearly 40,000 Bottles of Clear Eyes Over Sterility Concerns
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has initiated a recall of approximately 40,000 bottles of Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief. Prestige Consumer Healthcare, the manufacturer, stated that the recall is due to a lack of assurance of sterility for the product. These eye drops are widely available for over-the-counter purchase at various national retailers, including CVS, Walgreens, Amazon, Walmart, Dollar General, and Target. The specific product affected by this recall is the 15-milliliter bottle with an expiration date of September 30, 2027. Customers who have purchased this product are advised not to use it and to return it to the place of purchase for a refund. This action by the FDA and Prestige Consumer Healthcare aims to prevent potential health risks associated with non-sterile eye products.
