Belarusian PEN Announces Shortlist for Ales Adamovich Award
The Belarusian PEN has announced the shortlist for the Ales Adamovich Award, an honor that has recognized significant literary works for 30 years. The award, named after Belarusian writer, screenwriter, literary critic, and public figure Ales Adamovich (1927–1994), was established in 1995 to celebrate works addressing contemporary issues. This year's finalists include Siarhei Sashuk for 'Voice of the Generation of Freedom,' Volha Kastsiuk for her short story collection 'Dubovye Yablochki,' and Alena Kazlova, compiler and editor of 'I Come to You, People.' Also shortlisted are Yurka Lyashchynski and Yakub Sushchynski for their reportage 'Memory in Svislach,' Artsiom Shukanau for the novel 'Pentakvantar,' and Maryia Parkhimchyk for her novel 'Euphoria.' Ales Adamovich was also one of the founders of Belarusian PEN.
