Ethio Telecom Launches Digital Signature Platform to Enhance Government Services
Ethio Telecom, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, and the Federal Documents Authentication and Registration Service, has launched a national digital signature platform named 'teleSign'. This platform is designed to facilitate document authentication and attorney licensing, allowing Ethiopian citizens both domestically and abroad to access government services securely online. The teleSign platform integrates advanced AI-powered video-based identification and liveness detection with Ethiopia's Fayda National Digital ID system, ensuring remote authentication without physical presence. Additionally, the platform is integrated with Ethio Telecom's telebirr mobile money platform, enabling payments for government services. This initiative aims to reduce processing times from weeks to minutes and supports Ethiopia's transition towards a fully digital government ecosystem.
