AFL-CIO Poll Reveals Strong Worker Support for Union-Backed AI Policies
A recent poll conducted by the AFL-CIO, the largest federation of labor unions in the United States, reveals that a significant majority of U.S. workers support union-backed policies on artificial intelligence (AI). The survey, which included 1,588 respondents from across the country, found that over 90% of workers favor policies that ensure a human remains the final decision-maker in employment-related issues. Additionally, 92% of respondents support implementing advanced safeguards against harmful AI applications in the workplace, along with transparency and accountability measures for employers using AI. The poll highlights a growing concern among workers about the impact of AI on job security and workplace conditions, with 75% supporting the expansion of union opportunities to protect jobs from AI-related changes.
