Little Rock Public Radio's 'Track One' Podcast Wins National Edward R. Murrow Award
Little Rock Public Radio (LRPR) has been honored with its first National Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA). The award was given to LRPR's flagship podcast, 'Track One,' specifically for its first episode titled 'Shelved, Episode 1: Patty.' This episode won in the Best Podcast category for Small Market Radio, having previously secured the Regional Murrow Award in May. The podcast, hosted and written by LRPR's Politics and Government Reporter Josie Lenora, focuses on book bans in Arkansas libraries. The award-winning episode details the experiences of Patty Hector, the former director of the Saline County Library, and the public controversy surrounding attempts to remove books with LGBTQ+ themes and characters.
