Ukrainian National Arrested in Germany for Alleged Drone Espionage
A 33-year-old Ukrainian man was arrested in Thuringia, Germany, on suspicion of using a drone to spy on a Munich-based defense company. The Bavarian State Criminal Police Office and Thuringian police conducted the arrest, suspecting the individual of acting as a 'low-level agent' for a foreign power. The alleged espionage involved capturing images of the company's premises, potentially for sabotage purposes. This arrest follows a similar incident in July, where a Moldovan national was detained for spying on the KNDS company, known for producing the Leopard 2 tank. The current investigation is being led by the Bavarian Central Office for Combating Extremism and Terrorism, which has not disclosed further details about the case or the targeted company.
