Phoenix Endures Record Heat Wave with 17 Days Above 109°F
Phoenix, Arizona, continues to experience relentless heat as the city recorded its 17th consecutive day with temperatures exceeding 109°F (43°C) on July 18, 2023. According to NTD, the temperature reached 113°F (45°C) on Sunday afternoon, marking another day of extreme heat in the region. The heat wave has affected over 80 million people across western and southern states, with Phoenix being one of the hardest-hit areas. On August 20, temperatures in Tempe, near Arizona State University, reached 105°F (40.5°C) with 42% humidity, further exacerbating the challenging conditions.
