Mozambique and Zimbabwe Presidents Launch Major Fuel Corridor Expansion
The Presidents of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, and Zimbabwe, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, have initiated a significant expansion of the Beira-Harare fuel corridor. This project aims to increase the CPMZ pipeline's annual transport capacity by 67%, from 3 million to 5 million cubic meters, by the end of 2027. This expansion will allow for the transport of an additional two billion liters of fuel annually into Southern Africa's interior, strengthening a crucial supply route that connects the Port of Beira with Zimbabwe. The project will support access to diesel, petrol, and jet fuel across regional markets, including Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. New pumping stations will be constructed at Nhamatanda in Sofala Province and Messica in Manica Province.
