Governor Newsom Introduces AskCA, an AI-Powered Tool to Streamline Government Services for Californians
Governor Gavin Newsom has launched AskCA, a new artificial intelligence-powered tool designed to simplify access to government services for residents of California. This digital assistant aims to move beyond traditional web searches by integrating services, streamlining logins, and unifying departmental offerings into a single user experience. The Office of Data and Innovation developed AskCA's knowledge base in collaboration with Anthropic's Claude model, with security support from the California Department of Technology. Beta testers, who must be California residents aged 18 or older, are currently being sought to help refine the tool's responses. Subject matter experts from across state government are continuously contributing to improve AskCA's accuracy, ensuring that the answers provided are based on verified sources and offer clear, actionable guidance.
