Heat Dome Brings Triple-Digit Heat to Texoma Region
A persistent heat dome centered over the eastern United States continues to impact southwestern Oklahoma, including the Texoma region, with extreme heat and dry conditions. According to KSWO, temperatures are reaching triple digits, with heat index values climbing as high as 108°F (42°C). A heat advisory has been issued along the Red River, effective from 1 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Edouard, currently in southeast Texas, is weakening as it moves northwest. The storm is expected to dissipate into scattered showers by the time it reaches the Dallas metro area later this week. Despite isolated rain chances, the region will continue to experience high temperatures and drought conditions.
