Arizona Tourism Faces Decline Due to Reduced Canadian Travel
A recent report indicates a significant decline in Canadian travel to the United States, with a 25% drop in 2025, impacting the tourism industry with billions in losses. Arizona, a popular destination for Canadian visitors, is experiencing the effects of this downturn. The decrease in travel is partly attributed to comments made by President Trump, referring to Canada as the 51st state. Danny Seiden, president and CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry, highlighted the importance of Canadian visitors, often referred to as 'snowbirds,' who contribute significantly to the state's economy. Despite the current decline, Seiden remains optimistic about the future, citing the strong ties between Arizona and Canada.
