Air Force Launches AMTI Satellite Program to Enhance Target Tracking Capabilities
The Department of the Air Force has initiated a competition for the development of satellites capable of tracking airborne targets, as part of the Airborne Moving Target Indication (AMTI) program. This initiative aims to enhance the military's ability to monitor and engage moving targets from space. Secretary Troy Meink announced the awarding of a base contract and the upcoming competition for the first operational increment of these systems. The AMTI technology has been demonstrated to be effective, and the program seeks to develop scalable and affordable solutions for deployment.
