Penguin Random House India Faces Scrutiny Over Sonia Gandhi Memoir Publication
Penguin Random House India (PRHI) has reportedly decided against publishing Sonia Gandhi's memoir, 'Belonging: A Journey of Love,' in India, despite the parent company, Penguin Random House (PRH), announcing its international publication on November 10. This development has sparked a political controversy, with Congress leaders accusing PRHI of succumbing to political pressure. The memoir, which features a young Sonia Gandhi on its cover, was announced by her son, Rahul Gandhi, on X. PRHI, however, clarified that it is not the publisher of 'Belonging' in India and stated its willingness to publish the book, denying that the decision was due to the author declining editorial changes.
