Orlando's Magnolia Avenue Conversion Aims to Enhance Downtown Connectivity
The City of Orlando is undertaking a significant infrastructure project to convert Magnolia Avenue from a one-way to a two-way street. This initiative is part of the city's $750 million Downtown Orlando (DTO) Action Plan, which seeks to improve access and connectivity in the downtown area. The project, nearing completion, involves roadway design by DRMP and includes enhancements for transit, pedestrian, and bicycle access. The conversion aims to create a safer and more intuitive street network, facilitating better access to businesses and public spaces. The project extends from South Magnolia Avenue and East South Street to North Magnolia Avenue and East Livingston Street, restoring the corridor to its original two-way configuration from the 1950s.
