Texas Coal Mine Hosts Massive Solar Project Amid Ongoing Coal Operations
In Robertson County, Texas, Panamint Capital has initiated the construction of Big Rooter Power, a $1.7 billion solar project at the Twin Oaks power station. This project involves the installation of two million solar panels and 34,000 tons of American steel. Despite the solar development, the 310-megawatt lignite plant at Twin Oaks continues to operate, with no announced retirement date. Panamint is also considering expanding the Calvert mine and building a rail terminal to increase coal supply.
