FBI Task Force Arrests Nearly 30 in Western Massachusetts Drug Trafficking Bust
A significant drug trafficking operation in Western Massachusetts has been dismantled following a months-long investigation led by the FBI's Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force and the Chicopee Police Department. Dubbed 'Operation Pinky Promise,' the investigation resulted in the arrest of 28 individuals involved in the distribution of cocaine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl across Holyoke, Springfield, and Chicopee. Authorities seized over 12 firearms, more than one kilogram of cocaine, hundreds of fentanyl pills, and heroin. The operation was named after the pink fentanyl pills that were allegedly promised to buyers. The investigation utilized various methods, including surveillance, confidential sources, controlled purchases, search warrants, and wiretaps, to identify suspects and trafficking locations.
