Espoo Museum of Modern Art Introduces Innovative Support Model for Artists
The Espoo Museum of Modern Art (Emma) in Finland has launched a new model of artist support that extends beyond traditional exhibition schedules. The museum has committed to supporting four artists over several years, providing financial, practical, and institutional backing. This initiative includes acquiring their work, supporting external production, offering a part-time stipend, and covering health insurance. The program aims to culminate in mid-career survey exhibitions in 2029 and 2030. The selected artists, who have ties to the Nordic-Baltic region, are given the opportunity to develop their work with sustained support, addressing the challenges faced by mid-career artists.
