North Dakota emerged as the top state due to its outstanding affordability and rental availability, with a median rent significantly below the national average. Colorado and Minnesota followed, praised for tenant protections and a balanced rental environment, respectively. Conversely, Florida ranked lowest, suffering from high rental costs and poor tenant protections. The report underscores the challenges renters face in a competitive market, with affordability and tenant rights varying significantly across states.
