Buffalo AKG Art Museum Promotes Internal Leaders to Co-Directorship
The Buffalo AKG Art Museum in New York has announced a new leadership structure by promoting two of its internal members to co-directorship roles. Jillian Jones, previously the deputy director, will assume the role of executive director, while Cathleen Chaffee, the chief curator, will become the artistic director. This decision follows the departure of Janne Sirén, who has been the director for 13 years. The new leadership model aims to leverage the combined expertise of Jones and Chaffee, who have been with the museum since 2015 and 2014, respectively. The museum, known for its modern and contemporary art collection, has recently undergone a significant expansion and renovation, which has increased its annual attendance significantly.
