Truck Struck by Lightning on I-15 in Southern Utah, Driver Unharmed
A truck was struck by lightning on Interstate 15 near Cedar City, Utah, on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. near mile marker 50. The truck, a 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid, was driven by a single male who reported no physical injuries. According to tow truck operator Mark Hodgins, the lightning strike caused the vehicle to lose power steering, prompting the driver to pull over. The truck began smoking from under the dashboard, indicating a fire, which was extinguished by fire crews before Hodgins arrived. The vehicle was deemed a total loss, and the driver lost several expensive tools in the incident.
