Pentagon Approves Salesforce AI Agents for Administrative Military Tasks
The Pentagon has approved the deployment of Salesforce's AI agents for administrative tasks within the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Army’s Human Resources Command. Salesforce's Missionforce National Security platform, which is a variant of its commercial Agentforce platform, has received Impact Level 5 authorization, allowing it to handle sensitive, unclassified military information. This development follows Salesforce's $5.6 billion contract to build Missionforce, which aims to modernize government IT by providing autonomous AI execution capabilities. The AI agents are expected to support routine inquiries, summarize case histories, and provide policy and career information, potentially saving the Army Human Resources Command approximately $6 million annually.
