Actress Marissa Bode Alleges Discrimination by Southern Airways
Marissa Bode, an actress known for her role in 'Wicked,' has accused Southern Airways of denying her boarding due to her disability. Bode, who uses a wheelchair, shared her experience on TikTok, stating that despite prior confirmation from the airline about accommodations, she was told she could not board because the airline's planes require passengers to ascend stairs. Southern Airways' current policy does not require mechanical lift devices for boarding, as their aircraft hold fewer than 28 passengers. Following the incident, the airline's mobility department reached out to Bode, expressing regret and indicating an internal review of the situation.
